We have all had the times where we are sitting in bumper to bumper traffic wishing we could just fly right over it. AeroMobil is looking to make this a reality by 2020 with their flying car. This amazing road and air traveler will quickly transform from a car to a plane in just three minutes. While other companies have tried to create flying cars in the past, AeroMobil looks to have the first realistic flying car option that could meet safety requirements and reach the marketplace.

Just like convertible cars, expanding the wings and getting ready to fly is just as simple as lowering your roof. With the press of a button, the amazing mechanics installed will expand the wingspan and get you ready for takeoff. While your futuristic idea of flying cars right over traffic on the freeway may seem like a good plan, this is not the way it is going to work out. To fly this convertible car airplane, you will need a pilot’s license and a runway.

While you are flying in the air, you will be able to reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour. On the road, you can travel up to 100 miles per hour. One of the major concerns of this vehicle is safety. While this car-plane has had no issues on the ground, there was a crash mid-air during a test flight in 2015. This raises concerns that must be addressed before these car-planes can be sold on the market. With a parachute equipped for emergency landings, no one was seriously injured. However, further safety precautions must be put into play before AeroMobil has a marketable product. While a car plane may seem impractical to many, this could be a great option for someone who already has their pilot’s license.
